fangirl challenge
11/15 pairings » hijikata/mitsuba
❝I just wanted the woman I love to be happy. This may sound funny given the circimstances. But I wanted her to marry an ordinary guy and have some kids. Live an ordinary life. That’s all…

『 Shingeki no Kyojin 』 The three military squads.

Anonymous asked: 1 & 14

1 - Protagonists

1. Buffy Summers. Who proved IT CAN BE DONE.

2. Lyra Belacqua. Apparently there are people who don’t like Lyra? But then again there are people who dislike Buffy so. How these people sleep at night is beyond me.

3. Emma Wodehouse. Best Austen heroine by a mile. I WILL FIGHT YOU ON THIS.

4. Yako Katsuragi. POPULAR SHONEN JUMP SERIES WITH A FEMALE LEAD. we shall not see such a thing again.

5. Jo March. and her flawless romantic choices (aka FUCK YOU Laurie/Jo shippers). I cannot think of a fictional character I wanted to be more when I was a child. FORMATIVE INFLUENCES posterchild your name is always Josephine.

(funny how there are more female protagonists in literature than in film & tv)

14 - I wish had better a love interest(s)

1. Hermione Granger. Which is a shame because I want to love Hermione so much. But her romatic plot is always undermining her. I mean it’s not just that I think Ron is the worst choice ever (which I do think it is, forever worst choice) but Hermione became the worst version of herself whenever her romantic plot had to be advanced - Ron made her be so not the character I wanted to love and that’s why the pairing will always be a UNIVERSE OF NO to me.

2. Olivia Dunham. WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT. WHAT IS A PETER. Forever Angry At Fringe: The Blog.

3. Tara Maclay. Because baby you are so perfect and Willow is so… not. (alternatively this happens a lot in the Jossverse to ladies who would otherwise be queens of my heart if it wasn’t for their deplorable taste in men: mainly Kaylee and Echo)

4. Rosalind from As You Like It. I mean Shakespeare is normally flawless when it comes to shipping but… I just. Don’t. Get. Orlando. I’ve seen productions where I more or less could buy it (mainly because Jack Laskey has a face). But he is kind of meh for such a force of nature as Rosalind. Kind of a bummer because flawless, perfect play is flawless and perfect.

5. Mikoto Misaka. Touma? Really? REALLY? Misaka you are the biggest hero on the block, you could do so much better.

11 - That I will love till the end of time

1. MARTHA JONES MARTHA JONES MARTHA JONES. like nope, not over it, never over it.

2. Riza Hawkeye. Because seriously FIERCE KIND FLAWED DELIGHTFUL MORAL HERO HALF-OF-THE-GREATEST-LOVE-STORY-EVER QUEEN OF MY HEART. & i love how fandom wilfully misunderstands and misrepresents Hawkeye because she is much more complex than fandom’s narrow definition of what this kind of character should be. bless her subversive heart.

3. Hagumi Hanamoto; burden of genius & sense of mortality and WHAT OTHER NARRATIVE HAS LET A WOMAN HAVE THESE TWO CHARACTERISTICS? None, I tell you.

4. DAWN SUMMERS. I mean I’m all for diversity of opinions but if you don’t love Dawn Summers you shouldn’t be allowed on the internet.

5. Suzumiya Haruhi. AKA THE CHARACTER I WOULD HAVE FISTFIGHTS FOR.

15 - I want to rescue from their horrible narratives

1. All the Bleach ladies and all the Naruto ladies. Specially the ones that get the most screentime, like Rukia and poor, poor Sakura. Will defend them to death but oh boy, you needed better writers. I mean Sakura was a wonderfully written character and then SHE WASN’T. and Rukia was so strong and imposing and dreamy and then NO WAIT SHE CAN’T BE STRONG, THAT WOULD BE MADNESS. not that a female character has to be physically strong to be a good character but I hate how Bleach undermines its female characters’ battle skills just for kicks.

2. Blair Waldorf. FUCKING SOUL-BREAKING SHIT OF A TV SHOW.

3. Lily Evans. WHY AREN’T THE BOOKS ABOUT YOU, MY DEAR? WHY ARE YOU REFUSED A POINT OF VIEW? WHY HASN’T NOBODY ASKED YOU ABOUT THE WHOLE SNAPE MESS? WHY IS JK ROWLING SUCH A SHITTY WRITER?

4. since we are on the subject, LUNA LOVEGOOD. forever Luna Lovegood whose narrative makes no sense because she doesn’t hook up with Harry. i love Luna but i don’t understand why Luna exists, ultimately. as an structure it just doesn’t work. but then again if Rowling knew about structures she wouldn’t be such a shitty writer. i mean of the millions things Rowling doesn’t know about regarding writing structure is the one she knows the least about (WHAT ARE THE FIRST TWO BOOKS FOR. WHY DOES HARRY LOSE ALL HIS FATHER FIGURES. I DON’T UNDERSTAND THESE BOOKS AT ALL.)

5. Elena Gilbert oh how I wish you were in a better show because I love you so much you are my sunshine okay, girl?
